Forward Alpha, LLC ("we", "us", "our") built Phonics Race as a free children's educational app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the app.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Phonics Race is designed for children ages 4–6. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as it applies to children, and other applicable privacy laws.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or any user of the app.

Information We Collect

None. Phonics Race does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data whatsoever. This includes:

• No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials
• No location, GPS, or geolocation data
• No photos, camera access, microphone, or audio recordings
• No device identifiers, IDFA, GAID, or fingerprinting
• No analytics, event tracking, crash reporting, or telemetry
• No cookies, local storage tokens, or web beacons
• No contacts, calendar, or other device data

Local Data Storage

The app stores game progress (current level, words completed, cars earned, streak count) locally on your device using the operating system's standard preferences storage (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS). This data:

• Is stored only on your device and never transmitted to any server
• Is not accessible to Forward Alpha, LLC or any third party
• Can be deleted at any time by using the "Reset Progress" option in the app's Settings, or by uninstalling the app
• Contains no personally identifiable information

Third-Party Services and SDKs

Phonics Race does not integrate any third-party services, analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or social media APIs. The only external network request the app may make is to download font files on first launch (via Google Fonts), which does not involve any personal data or tracking.

Internet and Network Access

Phonics Race is designed to function entirely offline. No internet connection is required to use any feature of the app.

Advertising

Phonics Race does not contain any advertising — no banner ads, no interstitial ads, no rewarded video ads, no sponsored content of any kind.

In-App Purchases

Phonics Race does not offer any in-app purchases. All content (levels, words, cars, and features) is included with the free download.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any information with third parties because we do not collect any information. There are no data processors, partners, or affiliates who receive user data from this app.

Data Retention

Since no personal data is collected, there is no data to retain on our end. Local game progress persists on your device until manually reset or the app is uninstalled.

Parental Rights and Controls

Parents or guardians can:

• Reset all game progress at any time via the Settings gear icon on the Home screen
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
• Contact us at any time with questions about the app's data practices

No parental verification is required because no personal data is collected or processed.

Future Updates

In future versions of the app, we may introduce optional features such as anonymous usage analytics, cloud-based progress syncing, or user accounts. If and when we do:

• Any data collection will require explicit, verifiable parental consent where required by law (COPPA, GDPR)
• Analytics, if added, will be anonymous and privacy-first — no personal identifiers
• Account features will be optional and never required to use the core app

California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have certain rights regarding their personal information. Since Phonics Race does not collect any personal information, these rights are not applicable. However, California residents may still contact us with any privacy-related questions.

International Users

Phonics Race is available worldwide. Since no personal data is collected or transferred, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns. The app complies with GDPR, COPPA, CCPA, and other applicable privacy regulations by design — through not collecting data in the first place.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
